Because there clearly hasn’t been nearly enough ripping enemies apart in a particularly vicious fashion, PS3 players are due another entry in theGod of War series.

And Sony has dutifully obliged, sending out this very early teaser trailer for what is set to be titled God of War: Ascension.



It seems the latest entry in the GodofWar series will be following the well worn path of tracing an origin story for its main character – the permanently peeved Kratos. You can still expect plenty of ultraviolence and those nasty chains.

The PlayStation Blog presented this early glimpse at the game, as well as this message from the director of Ascension – Todd Papy:
“As you may already be aware, God of War: Ascension will be coming exclusively to PlayStation 3.
For those of you who haven’t had a chance to check out what the team at Sony Santa Monica Studios has been working on, I’m excited to present you with our very first trailer. Watch it and let us know what you think in the comments”

God of War: Ascension is set to debut in early 2013 exclusively on the PS3.
